Total unemployment in Bashkiria - 6.1 percent

Total unemployment in Bashkortostan calculated in accordance with the standards of the International Labour Organization is 6.1 percent. Of 1 973.4 thousand economically active population of the republic 120 000 people - are unemployed. These are average findings of surveys on employment during December 2013 - February 2014.

The average salary in January this year was 21 788 rubles in the region. The minimum living wage for able-bodied population is currently 6865 rubles.

According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection RB, as of April 1 more than 24.4 thousand unemployed were officially registered in the republic. The registered unemployment rate was 1.2 percent.

The national job bank at that time contained 39.5 thousand job vacancies. Accordingly, the tension coefficient, or the ratio of unemployed to the number of vacancies amounted to 0.7 in the region as of April 1.
