Rustem Khamitov met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Altintas Company Mehmet Kahn

On March 24, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with Mehmet Kahn, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Altintas Group, the press service of the head of the republic informs.

Altintas Group is engaged in mining of marble, its processing and transportation, as well as shipbuilding.

According to Rustem Khamitov Bashkortostan is interested in interaction with the company that has such great competence in production, extraction and processing marble. In addition, the direction associated with construction of ships is also interesting for the republic.

Mehmet Kahn said that his company had over a century of experience in mining and processing of natural stone in Turkey.

“We are one of three family-owned companies, which for several generations have been engaged in such production. Now the company had 13 sea-crafts. We also own two shipyards in Samsun and Yalova, where 38 transport ships for customers from Germany and Holland were produced. We are interested in such areas as construction and wood processing. Today the company has all necessary capacity to implement a project in Bashkiria of a river port with construction of vessels that will be able to go to the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea through Rostov. Also there is an intention to build a plant for extraction and processing of natural stone,” the head of the Turkish company said.

During the meeting the parties also discussed issues of cooperation in the sphere of tourism. One of the topics of discussion was a possibility of a plant construction for processing and export of wood, export of wood products and finished products.
