In Bashkortostan more than one and half thousand vehicles are connected to GLONASS

In Bashkortostan, more than one and half thousand vehicles are connected to the GLONASS system, the Head of the Bashkortostan Directorate of Rostransnadzor (Federal Transportation Inspection Service) Sergey Merezhko said at a press conference held in the regional office of "Interfax" agency on March 13.

“In Bashkiria an active connection to the system proceeds,” he said. “Currently, the list of subscribers includes more than 1,300 passenger buses and 150 vehicles carrying dangerous cargos. School buses are provided with GLONASS system. In the near future they will be equipped with a panic button for rapid response of rescue services.”

Sergey Merezhko also told about innovations in passenger traffic rules, in particular, transportation groups of children of more than 8 people. The new rules come into force in June 2014. They include a ban on night travel of children by buses. Vehicles must be manufactured no more than 10 years ago; the driver of D category should have driving experience of at least one year.
