Foreign trade turnover of Bashkiria increased by 7.9 percent in 2013

Foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan developed in the sum of 14.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2013, which is by 7.9 percent more than in 2012. This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB, Minister of Economic Development Eugene Mavrin at a meeting of the republican Government on Wednesday. More than 92 percent of the foreign trade turnover is accounted for exports.
“Exports of goods of Bashkortostan Republic amounted to 13.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2013 with an increase by 10.5 percent compared to 2012”, Eugene Mavrin said. “The total imports to Bashkortostan Republic made 1.2 billion U.S. dollars.”
Almost 86 percent of the exported goods are accounted for mineral products, 6.5 percent - for chemical products and rubber, 5.4 percent – for machinery, equipment and transport, 1.4 percent – for metals and metal products, etc.
Exports decreased in a number of commodity groups. Exports of food and agricultural raw materials decreased most significantly - by 87.5 percent compared to 2012, but this reduction was just of technical nature.
“The reason for decline in exports of food products and agricultural raw materials were changes in turnover accounting within the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus”, Eugene Mavrin said.
