80 percent of housing subject to privatization became the property of citizens in Bashkiria - Russian State Register

Since 1998, about 650,000 people took advantage of the law on privatization of housing in the country. This means that about 80 percent of the residential premises subject to privatization became the property of citizens. Such data are given by the State Register of Bashkortostan.
“On March 1, 2015 the program of free transfer of dwellings from public and municipal housing stock in the property of citizens as privatization procedure will be completed. Many people have already used this right but still there are those who live in a room or apartment on the grounds of permit to move in or social contract. They will have one year more to think over the matter and submit documents for privatization of housing”, the assistant director of Bashkortostan Directorate of Russian State Register Natalia Shagieva said.
