Bashkiria claims to occupy leading positions in valuable furs production

Bashkortostan has all opportunities to take leading positions in Russia in production of valuable furs. LLC "Octobrskoye" the single company in Bashkortostan specializing in furs is located in Kugarchinsky region.

To date, livestock of LLC "Octobrskoye" is about 12.5 thousand heads. More than 11 thousand of peltries are sold. This company is currently the only one among 40 Russian enterprises specializing in furs which is entitled to label their products with European high-quality mark and to put it on one of the world's five specialized fur auctions - SagaFurs ( Finland).

According to the General Director of "Octobrskoye" Alexander Avdeev, the global demand for furs grows. For example, the volume of Russian domestic demand is 5 million peltries, while domestic production does not exceed 30 percent.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture RB, it was decided to extend the best practices of "Octobrskoye" on farms in the nearby regions (within 250 km). The company is willing to share their experience in keeping, feeding, caring of minks and polar foxes with those farms that will join the project, and help them in sale of peltries at SagaFurs.

Thanks to the implementation of this project, there is a possibility of Bashkortostan to take a strong niche in the market and become one of the suppliers of valuable fur in the world. According to Alexander Avdeev, the potential of the republic is very good. Thus, the climatic conditions in Bashkortostan are ideal for fur animals growing.
