One of the biggest Russian shopping malls was commissioned in Ufa in 2013
In Russia in the IV quarter 2013 more than 800 thousand square metres of retail space was put into operation. According to the study conducted by Jones Lang LaSalle, it is the highest quarterly figure in the last seven years.
56 percent of built shopping areas are located in towns with the population of less than 1 million people. Following the results of the last year 44 percent of the commissioned areas are accounted for such settlements.
Total, during 2013 in Russia 1.65 million square metres of commercial real estate were built, which roughly corresponds to the last few years indicators. Since 2007, the annual input of shopping centres in the country varies from 1.4 to 1.8 million square metres.
The shopping centre "Globus" in Yekaterinburg, "Planet" in Ufa, "Akvarel" in Volgograd, "Crystal" in Tyumen and "Aura" in Yaroslavl became the major commissioned malls in Russian regions.
The total market of the Russian shopping malls reached 16 million square metres. In 2014 developers announced about input of 2 million square metres more, one third of which will be constructed in Moscow. In case of these plans implementation the Russians will have a record amount of new supply, according to the website of Ufa administration.
