Foreign trade turnover of Bashkiria increased by 6.4 percent in 2013 - Customs

The foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan amounted to 2 502.4 million U.S. dollars in 2013 with an increase of 6.4 percent compared to 2012. Such data are reported by Bashkortostan Customs. Exports rose by 12.3 percent, imports declined by 6.9 percent.

Total trade is accounted for 83.3 percent of non-CIS countries and 16.7 percent for the CIS countries.

The export in 2013 was traditionally dominated by chemical products, rubber (41.6 percent of all products shipped, or 759.7 million dollars) and engineering goods (39.9 percent, 728.1 million dollars). As compared to the figures of 2012, sales abroad of republican major exports increased by 3.1 percent and 37.6 percent, respectively.

Shipping volumes of fuel and energy products (by 28.6 percent to 121.9 million dollars) and mineral products (by 21.5 percent to 125.8 million dollars) significantly increased. Export of metals and metal ware (18.7 percent to 131.3 million dollars), wood pulp and paper products (by 7.1 percent to 52.2 million dollars) decreased. Shipment abroad of foodstuffs and raw materials for their production decreased more than one half (52.2 percent, to 9 million dollars).

The main exporters of the republic in 2013 were JSC "UMPO", LLC "Industrial Railway", JSC "Synthez Kauchuk", JSOC "Bashneft", JSC "Ufaorgsintez", JSC "Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant", JSC " Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant", JSC "KumAPP".

Engineering products occupied the dominant position in imports (63.3 percent or 428 million dollars). The import of these goods decreased by 19.3 percent for a year, resulting in the 6.9 percent decrease in total import.

Chemical products and rubber take the second place in the imports structure with a share of 21.1 percent (142.4 million dollars). In 2013 it was imported by 63.8 percent more than in 2012.

The main recipients of foreign goods were LLC "UzDaewooAuto -Ufa", JSOC "Bashneft", JSC "Pharmstandard-Ufa Vitamin Plant", JSC "Salavatneftehimremstroy", JSC "Bashneftegeofizika", JSC "Polief " and several other companies.
