Bashkiria increased export of machinery products in January-November to 23.2 percent - Customs

Foreign trade turnover amounted to 2 223.1 million U.S. dollars in the region of Bashkortostan customs activity in January- November, that is two percent higher than the comparable figure of 2012. The exports (71.9 percent of foreign trade turnover) increased by 6.1 percent and imports fell by 7.3 percent.

The total export volume growth of 6.1 percent occurred due to a significant - 23.2 percent - increase in shipments of mechanical-engineering products, according to the materials of Bashkortostan Customs.

Mechanical engineering generates 38.7 percent of total exports of the republic. The largest share - 41.8 percent – is accounted for chemical products and rubber. Metals and metal ware constitute 7.5 percent of exports, mineral products - 7.3, wood and wood articles – 3 percent. Also the volume of mineral products shipments significantly increased - by 22.9 percent.

Major shippers in Bashkortostan are JSC "UMPO", LLC "Enterprise of Industrial Railway Transport", JSC "Synthez-Kauchuk", JSOC "Bashneft", JSC "Ufaorgsintez".

Mechanical-engineering products dominate in the structure of imports (63.7 percent). The share of chemical and rubber industry is 21.4 percent. The republic also imports metals and metal products (6.5 percent), food products and raw materials for their production (2.5), etc.
