One thousand kilometers of roads and 30 bridges are repaired in Bashkiria - Goskomtrans RB

This year, over one thousand of kilometers of roads, 30 bridges are repaired; five new bridges are built in Bashkortostan. Works were carried out at 500 objects of road facilities of the republic. This was announced by Ilyas Munirov, the Chairman of the State Committee RB on Transport and Road Facilities (Goskomtrans) at a briefing in the Regional Public Reception of Dmitry Medvedev in Ufa.

According to Ilyas Munirov, this year it was provided funding of 11.6 billion rubles for the road sector in the republic.

“To solve the problem of local roads improvement special road funds will work in all the municipalities and cities administration since January 1,” the head of the department said.

According to Ilyas Munirov, funding in the sum of about one billion rubles will be directed to road funds, plus subsidizing in the volume of vehicle tax. Thus, in the next year as about 50 percent of the funds will be transferred to local authorities.

The head of Goskomtrans RB explained that in Bashkortostan 787 kilometers of roads are federal highways (M5, M7, Ufa - Orenburg). These roads are maintained and funded by the Federal Road Agency bypassing the republican budget.

Bashkortostan has been working under the federal target program for the last three years. In its framework eight road facilities were built in 2011, 10 roads in 2012. This year funding is allocated for another eight objects. The total amount of federal means amounts to about 500 million rubles. The republican budget means constitute about 300 million rubles.
