Number of cattle per year increased by 17.1 percent at Bashkir farmers

In Bashkortostan a number of cattle in farms of all categories amounted to 1 275.4 thousand heads as of November 1. This is a little less – by 0.6 percent - than the previous year, according to Bashkortostan Statistics Agency.
Reduction in cattle number is marked in agricultural entities (by 2.7 percent, to 454.1 thousand heads) and households (by 1.5 percent - to 712.2 thousand heads). At the same time the cattle population has increased over the year by 17.1 percent - up to 109.1 thousand heads at owner-operated farms and individual entrepreneurs.
Production of livestock and poultry for slaughter (live weight) increased by 2.7 percent - up to 264.5 thousand tons in Bashkortostan. Agricultural companies have provided a positive trend (110 percent compared to January -October 2012, or 102,000 tons) and farmers (116 percent, 12.9 thousand tons). The production decreased at households (97.3 percent, 149.6 thousand tons).
1 506,4 thousand tons of milk were produced in Bashkortostan for ten months of 2013 – by 1.2 percent less than a comparable result of the last year. Agricultural organizations and private farmsteads are in the "minus" (3.3 and 2 percent, respectively). Farmers are in the "plus" (21.5 percent).
Egg production decreased in all categories of farms in Bashkortostan. In January -October 953,8 mln. eggs were received - 97.3 percent compared to January- October 2012. Total production of eggs fell by 2 percent (to 673.6 million units) at agricultural enterprises, by 4.5 percent (to 264.1 mln.) at households, by 5.4 percent (to 16,1 mln. at farmers and individual entrepreneurs.
