Cellular communication should completely cover federal highways of "M" category in 2014

The main federal highways should be provided with cellular coverage in 2014. This was reported by RIA Novosti quoted the Minister for Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Nikolay Nikiforov .

“It is important that all of our key transport corridors will be covered with communications, and our task is to provide cellular coverage of all federal roads in 2014, at least the "M" category” Nikolay Nikiforov said at a meeting of the government commission on public health protection.

According to the head of the Ministry for Communications of Russia, the state undertakes the cost of the main infrastructure. He noted that although the project was not profitable for business, mobile operators had agreed to install equipment along the highways.

Two federal highways of the "M" category - M5 "Ural" and M7 "Volga" go over the territory of Bashkortostan Republic.
