Bashkir and British businessmen and academics to discuss issues of biotechnology investments

A roundtable conference of biomodule of the UK Trade Mission in Bashkortostan will be held in Ufa, on November 6.

In addition to representatives of British and Bashkir companies, as well as employees of universities and research centers, it will be attended by British Consul General in Yekaterinburg Neil Semple, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic Dmitry Sharonov.

Among the participants are: British companies - ICHARM, KPMG, Deloitte & Touche, Ernst & Young and GlaxoSmithKline, as well as NVP "Bashinkom", SPE "Biomedhim", INKI PROFI, "Ecochimtech" SPE "Novator", "Travy Bashkirii", Institute of Innovative Agricultural Technologies APK-project, "Bashbiotehnologii", Institute of Biochemistry and Genetics, Ufa Scientific Centre, Russian Academy of Sciences.

Among the announced topics for discussion are biomedicine, genetic engineering, bio-energy, bioremediation, interuniversity integration, as well as funding outstanding projects for promotion and start-up of unique industrial biotech solutions in small and medium businesses.

Stimulating creation and support of effective investment climate to achieve maximum Bashkir- British business integration with UK expertise companies such as GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca will be also discussed at the round table conference.
