Rustem Khamitov: «Ecologically unfriendly enterprises will not be constructed in Bashkortostan»

Ecologically unfriendly enterprises will not be constructed in the territory of Bashkortostan, the President RB Rustem Khamitov underlined today at the opening of 4th inter-regional ecological forum in Ufa.

As he said, the ecological damage accumulated in the region for the last years, was so great that its consequences should «be cleared up for a long time yet».

Among priority problems for today is sanitation of JSC "Khimprom" territory and Semenovsky Gold Recovery Plant in Baimaksky region. Thus, more than 4 billion rbl. will be required only for restoration of the damaged natural systems subjected to negative anthropogenic and technogenic influence of the recent economic activity of "Khimprom".

“Within two years we have been trying to be included in the Federal target-oriented program «Liquidation of the accumulated ecological damage» and we managed to do it,” Rustem Khamitov marked. “Besides "Khimprom", Semenovsky Gold Recovery Plant was also included in it. We hope that a number of «Gazprom neftehim Salavat» objects and "Bashneft" with its old fund of oil-extracting wells will also be part of this program. We can lay claim for total 10 billion rbl., which will be directed for liquidation of the accumulated ecological damage. I think that for five-seven years we will manage to finish works on ecological rehabilitation of these enterprises.”

Not less important direction is constant ecological monitoring of enterprises located in the territory of the republic. In the future practically all enterprises in the region should be covered with such monitoring, the President of Bashkortostan set the task.

Also it is essential to pay the most steadfast attention to preservation and development of reserved territories.

“We are close to that such natural objects as Kapova Cave and «Bashkir Ural» complex will be included in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage,” Rustem Khamitov informed.
