Rustem Khamitov has discussed cooperation prospects with representatives of Astec Inc (USA)

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has met with Astec Inc (USA) Vice-President on International Sales Raji ElMawla on September 5. A possibility to manufacture high-quality components for roads construction in the republic became the main topic of the today's meeting.

According to Raji ElMawla, the technology of Astec Inc is successfully realised today in the North America, and also in Australia, Europe and in the Near East.

“Our technology is applied and in Russia, but in insignificant volumes so far. We hope that we will manage to bring a contribution to development of this direction in Bashkortostan. We consider a possibility to manufacture components in your region,” Raji ElMawla said at the briefing. “The President of Bashkortostan specially asked us to consider such possibility. He is interested in manufacturing high-quality materials in Bashkortostan, in applying advanced technologies in this sphere. We have agreed that we will co-operate.”

The day before representatives of Astec Inc examined several platforms for the future manufacture — in Agidel and Ufa.

It should be mentioned that Bashkortostan has already positive working experience with the road complex enterprises of the USA. The joint American-German-Bashkir enterprise TerraCrete Technologies is registered in Ufa.

The purpose is to organise production of additives of new generation for soil stabilization based on acrylic-latex copolymers formula. An experimental batch of the formula is already produced.

Last year this additive was used on a pilot site of the road in Zinino settlement of Oktyabrsky residential district of Ufa. Results of inspection showed that bearing capacity of the coating exceeds standard requirements on variety of indicators.

For a year of operation hollows and potholes are not present on the roadway, the coating is resistible to wheel track formation and is in a good state.
