Pilot aviaproject in Volga region: executed flights are subsidised

Under the new decision the project term is prolonged till December 31, 2013, and the size of subsidising is increased by 150 million roubles. Thus the main loading falls on the federal budget. Expected effect from realisation of a complex of measures is increase in volume of transportations to 90 thousand passengers.

The new scheme assumes change of subsidising principle over 104 routes. Payments to airlines will be carried out by number of executed flights, instead of by quantity of tickets sold. Thus, conditions for high frequency of flights are provided.

Since April 1, 2013 flights within the limits of the project are carried out from 11 cities, including Ufa. In total till October 1, 2013 opening of 37 direct flights between 15 large cities is planned.

According to Rosaviatsiya (Federal Air Transport Agency), for the first months of the project implementation 17,4 thousand people used services of regional air transport that makes about 42 percent from total number of passengers transported between regions of the Volga district for the whole year of 2012. 1684 flights were executed.

In case of successful project implementation the Volga Federal District experience will be distributed over the country.
