Since November, 2014 trucks should pay a charge for driving on Russian roads

The decision «On payment a toll for compensation of hazard caused to public highways of federal value by vehicles having the gross vehicle weight rating over 12 tons» was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, the press-service of the Government RF informs.

One kilometre of the passed way will cost 3,5 roubles, the toll amount will be annually indexed.

When the vehicle is moving the charge is calculated on the basis of data received from the onboard device, defining automatically the route of movement given by the operator.

The net profit of the federal budget from introduction of new tax should make 384,3 billion rbl. a year. The sum of toll calculated taking into account the social approach, for vehicles on roads passing in places of historical settlement will make 1,5 roubles per one kilometre.
