Construction of the international terminal at Ufa Airport will begin in August

Construction of the new international terminal at Ufa Airport will begin in August. The completion of works is planned on the fourth quarter of 2014. Rustem Khamitov, the head of the republic told about works on the object and financing volumes at the Public Council session on investment climate improvement under the President RB.

For today the area of internal airlines hall makes 12 thousand square metres, the international hall — 4 thousand square metres. The existing international terminal will be integrated in the construction object — its total area will make 16 thousand square metres.

According to the President, in the airport three telescopic passageways will be at disposal of the airport. One of them can be connected to the largest aircrafts of Boeing 777 and Boeing 747 types.

“Works have already begun: design engineering goes at full speed,” Rustem Khamitov informed. “Necessary funds are available. I think that we will meet the sum of 800-900 million rbl.”

“Financing by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation is defined, it will amount to 3,2 billion rbl. only on plate structures of the airport,” Rustem Khamitov said.

Works on fencing of the airport will be carried out also.

“The airport will develop by "lego" principle,” the President marked. “The existing buildings will be built in into a new airport complex. The construction will proceed and after 2015. Internal lines will be extended.”

In the long term, according to Rustem Khamitov, the area of the internal lines hall can be increased to 25-30 thousand square metres.
