Government of Bashkiria and the World Bank have signed the cooperation agreement

The cooperation agreement between the Government of Bashkortostan and the World Bank is concluded on Wednesday at Euromoney Investment Forum which takes place today at the Ufa Congress Hall.

The document was signed by the Deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB Evgeniy Mavrin and the head of representation office of the World Bank in the Russian Federation Michael Rutkovsky.

Bashkortostan is interested in using experience of the World Bank in solution of social problems and poverty overcoming, Evgeniy Mavrin informed journalists. About 10 percent of the population of our republic lives below the poverty line, that is they have incomes below the living wage.

“First of all, we are interested in organisation of programs on poverty overcoming, which the World Bank implements all over the world,” the Vice-Premier said. “We wait for recommendations of the World Bank for making progress in this direction.”

The mechanism of self-organising of the population is also interesting to our republic, allowing the World Bank successfully solving social problems. The parties discuss directions of joint work at the current Euromoney Investment Forum in Ufa.
