Solar power station will be constructed in Bashkiria

A thin-film solar module manufactured by Novocheboksarsk Hevel Company is tested in Ufa State Aviation Technical University (USATU): the first power station on a solar energy will be constructed in Bashkortostan.

“Now we conduct active work with the Ministry of Industry and Innovative Policy RB on choosing a site,” the development director of the company-property developer «Avelar Solar Technology» Aydar Hafizov explained. “Any day we wait for a governmental order to be issued which will define statutory acts stimulating use of renewed sources. It will be favourable to investors with payback period of 15 years. Solar power stations in regions with good insolation will work rather effectively. In Bashkiria these are southern regions.”

Aydar Hafizov informed also that the USATU was chosen as a test platform not casually.

“Here there is a good scientific base and employees will be able to easily master the new field. The purpose of test installations is not only research, but also participation of students, candidates for masters’ degree, post-graduate students to prepare experts for this branch, which only starts to appear in Russia.”

Aydar Hafizov said that construction of at least one power station with capacity of 5 mW is planned. An area of 2,5 hectares is required to generate 1 mW of energy.
