Problems of petrochemical clusters development in PFO will be discussed at the «Big Chemistry» forum in Ufa

Problems of petrochemical clusters development in Volga Federal District (PFO) will be discussed by participants of the III International forum «Big Chemistry» which will be held in Ufa on May 23-24.
Creation of the Volga petrochemical cluster is a part of the development program of Russian oil and gas chemistry till 2030, developed by the Ministry of Energy RF. According to the program, the country should reduce import of petrochemical products of high processing (today it covers half of Russian consumption). For this purpose it is supposed to form six large gas and petrochemical hubs with full production chains from raw materials to finished goods. Volga one is the largest of them. Here it is concentrated more than 77 largest enterprises of Russian petrochemistry where over 400 thousand people are occupied. Three petrochemical clusters, formed in the Nizhniy Novgorod Region, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan, are included in the list of innovative territorial clusters confirmed by the commission of the Chairman of the Government of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in 2012.
As a result of cluster development an ethylene manufacture should grow in PFO in 2,3 times by 2030 — from 1,6 million tons (in 2010) to 3,8 million tons. Along with manufacture increase, by 2030 in Volga Federal District growth of processing and internal consumption of polymers in 3,1 times is planned.
