1,5 billion rbl. will be invested into objects of digital TV and radio broadcasting in Bashkiria

In Bashkortostan new objects of digital TV and radio broadcasting are under construction. The volume of investments in the republic under the Federal target program «TV and radio Broadcasting Development in the Russian Federation» will make 1,5 billion rbl. Rustem Khamitov, the President of Bashkortostan informed about it at the Government RB session on Wednesday.

“This indicator is twice higher in our region, than on average across Russia,” the head of the republic marked.

As a whole construction of 239 television stations is planned.

In 2009 the President of Russia confirmed the list of obligatory publicly-accessible TV and radio channels. They should be free of charge for consumers and cover the whole territory of the country.

The head of Agency on Information Technologies RB Ildar Yamalov informs that two multiplexes are formed at present — packages of 20 channels, further it is planned to introduce also the third multiplex.

At the session it was also marked that now only about half of population has possibility to view more than four channels.

First two stages of the Federal Program in Bashkortostan will be finished in 2014. They assume the organisation of coding and multiplexing centre in Ufa, and also construction of 65 tower sites with height of more than 75 metres. As a result, under the forecast of the Agency on Information Technologies RB, the digital broadcasting will be accessible to 77 % of the population. After the third and fourth stage this indicator will reach 95 %: 174 tower sites with height over 20 metres will be constructed.

Last year the Government of Russia accepted the concept concerning disconnection of analogue television broadcasting by 2017.
