Bashkortostan searches for investors in the USA

From February 10 till February 16, Bashkortostan official delegation is paying a visit to the United States of America.

The delegation headed by the Deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB, the Head of the Government Office RB Ilshat Tazhitdinov, includes representatives of the Ministry of Industry and the State Transport Committee RB, the Bashkir State University.

The main objective of the visit is active search for investors.

On February 11, prospects of cooperation in the field of industrial innovative technologies development, IT park creation were discussed at the University of Texas (San Antonio).

Members of the delegation were especially interested in local experience of commercialization of scientific research elaborations. The University co-operates with special foundation "StarTech".

During the visit to the University of Texas, the rector of Bashkir State University Akhat Mustafin and the president of "StarTech" foundation Jim Poage signed the memorandum of cooperation.

The second day members of the delegation spent in Dallas at the factory of «Seaboard Asphalt Products Company» which was the initiator of the visit.

Developed by the factory experts the innovative technology of roads construction with special additives and ground stabilisation essentially reduces the construction costs. Together with representatives of the company a test site of road was constructed in Octyabrsky district of Ufa in autumn last year. According to experts, the roadway covering survives well the Russian climate conditions. The members of the delegation had a possibility to study running characteristics of the roadway covering in laboratory conditions.

On February 13, visiting of one more factory of the company in Baltimore and discussion of possibility to create a joint production in the republic is planned. The same day a presentation of Bashkortostan in the Senate of the State of Pennsylvania will be made.

During the visit economic and investment potential of the republic will be demonstrated.

It is planned to discuss prospects of the further development of foreign economic relations at the U.S. Department of Commerce, and to present a number of infrastructural projects at the office of the World Bank. Together with the Deputy Heads of US Energy and Agriculture Departments it is supposed to study possibilities of investment and technological cooperation expansion. During the meeting with the special representative of the US State Secretary issues of partner relations establishment with American states will be considered.

The visit schedule is as much as possible focused on attraction of businessmen and representatives of investment structures to participation in joint projects in the sphere of industry, agriculture, development of road and transport infrastructure, hotel business and housing construction, the Government of Bashkortostan reports.
