First electric buses to appear in Ufa in 2013

Modernisation of the city electric transport will proceed in Ufa in 2013. As the first deputy head of the Ufa administration Vladimir Dmitryuk informed at the press conference on February 12, this year at the expense of budgets of all levels it is planned to purchase 100 trams and trolley buses, and also 20 electric buses — railless independent vehicles powered from their own, replaceable batteries.

According to Vladimir Dmitryuk, in 2012 for needs of Ufa townspeople and visitors of the city it was bought four modern trams and five low-floor comfortable trolley buses of the new generation, allowing to save up to 40 % of the electric power.

“This work will be continued in Ufa and henceforth. The existing park of the electric transport became obsolete a long time ago, and it should be replaced by more convenient vehicles for passengers including disabled people,” the first deputy head of Ufa administration underlined.
