Priority "forest" investment projects implementation is checked in Bashkortostan

In Bashkortostan three priority investment projects in the field of forest exploitation are implemented now. They are realized by LLC "Selena", Ufa Plywood Mill and Ufa Veneer- Plywood Plant.

As the Deputy Minister of Forestry RB Rif Gumerov informed at the meeting in the Forestry Department, a special governmental commission was created to check the course of investment project implementation by LLC "Selena" in 2012.

“The commission established that the investor did not meet the terms on volumes of investments. They were reduced without our consent from 2,1 billion to 698 million rbl. Terms of production facilities input into operation expired in April 2012, manufacture has not been started yet,” Rif Gumerov underlined at the meeting. “Now the republican Ministry of Forestry takes measures to terminate contracts of lease with LLC "Selena".

As concerning two other investment projects, then the specified criteria of rational use of harvested timber, energy consumption reduction and increase in import-substituting products output were not reflected in concepts of investment projects submitted by the Ufa Plywood Mill and Ufa Veneer-Plywood Plant.

“Draft contracts of forest plots lease directed to the Ufa Plywood Mill and Ufa Veneer-Plywood Plant are not signed up to the present because of disagreement of these companies with wording of draft contracts, prepared by the Ministry of Forestry RB,” Rif Gumerov informed at the meeting in the Forestry Department on Volga Federal District.
