Bashkiria is among top five subjects of Russia and the second in the Volga Federal District on agricultural production volume

The volume of gross agricultural output made nearly 101 billion rbl. in Bashkortostan, from them about 6 % were produced by farms, the Minister of Agriculture RB Nikolay Kovalenko informed at the conference of Association of Owner-operated Farms and Farmer Cooperatives RB on Friday. 8 % of gross regional product is formed in agricultural sector of Bashkortostan.

«On volume of gross agricultural output we are included into the top five of Russian subjects and we take the second place in Volga Federal District», the head of department said.

Thus, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture marked that «taking the sixth place in Russia on areas under crops, we take only the eighth place on grain production, the tenth – on vegetables production, 11 – on sugar beet production. We have reserves for growth».

In cattle breeding republic is still among leading regions on number of cattle and on milk yield, the Minister of Agriculture reported.
