All pre-conditions are available for cattle breeding development in Bashkiria

For 11 months 2012 it is made 1,628 million tons of milk in Bashkiria, 321 thousand tons of cattle and poultry are produced. It is more than the last year's level by 4 % and by 1 %, accordingly.

For today the number of cattle exceeds in the region 1,280 million heads, the press-service of Ministry of Agriculture RB informs. It includes 503 thousand cows, 300 thousand pigs, 848 thousand sheep and goats, 131 thousand horses. The number of poultry reaches 1,1 million.

It is planned to improve indicators in the branch in the near future due to several target-oriented programs. One of them is the Republican targeted program "500 farms". The grants which total sum exceeds 274 million roubles are already paid to 50 participants of the program.

At the moment complex modernisation is spent at 37 dairy-commodity farms of the republic. Till the end of the current year this indicator will be increased to 50.

Thus, in 2011 20,8 million roubles of grants were paid from the budget to participants for purchasing commercial and breeding cattle, process equipment and infrastructure creation. In 2012 this figure made 55 million roubles.

As experts note, undoubtedly that realisation of the branch program on development of meat cattle breeding for 2009-2012 gave positive results. Thus, if to its beginning 15 republican regions were engaged in livestock breeding, by the end of 2012 – already 51 regions.

However, there are also several problems. It concerns, first of all, reduction of beef output, lack of specialised feed yards, low economic efficiency on breeding and fattening of cattle, and also great wear of cattle-breeding premises and process equipment.
