110th anniversary of the State Regional Standardization Centre in RB

The State Regional Centre of Standardization, Metrology and Tests celebrates its 110th anniversary in Bashkortostan Republic.

In 1902 Dmitry Mendeleyev the head of the Main Chamber of Weights and Measures informed the Ufa Municipal Duma that it was supposed to open Calibrating Chamber in Ufa. It was required cable or written approval from the Municipal Duma. In December the Chamber was opened. It was located in the building of provincial museum (nowadays —Theatrical Street). Its task was supervision of measures and scales usage in the Ufa and Orenburg Provinces. Retired collegiate registrar Victor Sokolov became the first employee of the Ufa Calibrating Chamber.

Today the State Regional Standardization Centre RB is a large engineering-methodical centre with the central office in Ufa and divisions in Sterlitamak, Octybrsky, Neftekamsk, Beloretsk, Birsk and Sibay. It is one of the most equipped organisations subordinated to the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology.

On December 18, the solemn meeting devoted to the anniversary will be held in the State Regional Centre of Standardization.
