Winter crops state does not cause concern in Bashkortostan

The winter in the territory of Russia is predicted colder than usual but snowy. The last circumstance encourages farmers: the winter crops state in many respects depends on thickness of snow cover. As Agroreview informs referring to participants of the conference «Agroholdings of Russia», the winter crops state is quite good, prospects are favorable, next year the crops are expected better than this one.
In Bashkortostan winter crops as a whole do not cause concern, at present overwintering goes smoothly. According to the press-service of the Ministry of Agriculture RB, the state of 70 percent of winter crops is characterised as "good", 29 percent as "satisfactory". In the territory of the republic about 490 thousand hectares are occupied by winter crops - by 14 thousand hectares more than the last year. The lion's share is occupied by winter ruttishness — 405 thousand hectares. The winter wheat takes 61 thousand hectares, triticale — 17 thousand, winter rape — six thousand hectares.
In case of replanting there is a reserve stock of seeds of spring grains and grain legumes in the republic — it will be enough for 150 thousand hectares of farmland.
The Bashkir Hydrometeorological Centre predicts the December temperature above normal, but lower than the last year. Frosty dry weather is expected within the next few days. It will get cold to 20-25 degrees below zero, in northern areas — up to 32 degrees below zero at nights. The temperature during the day will be 18-23 degrees below zero, in the north of republic and in mountainous areas — up to minus 27 degrees Celsius. January is expected within normal limits. But in February-March severe frosts are expected, weather forecasters warn farmers.
