"Green" standard for objects of real estate in Russia to be introduced in 2013

Since March 1, 2013 the national "green" standard is introduced in Russia for objects of the real estate. The issue of such standards introduction in construction became the main subject of discussion in the Ministry of Ecology of Bashkortostan, with participation of representatives of the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities RB, the State Committee RB on Construction and Architecture, and also the State Regional Centre of Standardization, Metrology and Tests in RB.

According to participants of the meeting there is a long-felt need to develop accurate and clear criteria of ecological compliance of constructions. Justly in a number of countries special "green" building standards are already formulated.

The "green" standard serves, first of all, for estimation of buildings ecological efficiency. The objects certified under national "green" building standards contaminate environment to the minimum degree and provide high level of ecological safety.

The system of ecological certification is implemented in Russia at the initiative of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation. At the moment Skolkovo, Olympic Constructions in Sochi and objects of «FIFA-2018» are passing the eco-certification.

“This issue is of special urgency on the threshold of the session in Ufa of Council of Heads of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the meeting of Heads of the BRICS states. Therefore it is necessary to inform the interested bodies on necessity of "green standards» introduction, considering, that since March 1, 2013 the National standard of the Russian Federation GOST R 54954-2012 «Conformity assessment. Ecological requirements to objects of the real estate» is put into operation,” Olga Lazdina, the Deputy Minister of Nature Management and Ecology RB underlines.

As she said, a special section completely devoted to "green" standards will appear in the near future on the official site of the Ministry of Ecology of Bashkortostan.
