Modernisation of Ufa Airport will cost 5,5 billion roubles

International terminal construction in the Ufa Airport is a key task in preparation of the transport infrastructure for the SCO and BRICS Summits. Issues of air gate preparation of the Bashkir capital for reception of international delegations were considered at the organising committee session in the Government of Bashkortostan.

According to requirements to such events carrying out, the Ufa International Airport should provide takeoff - landings of special planes with a fifteen minutes interval, it should have two ceremonial parkings and a parking apron for 21 aircrafts of heads of the state-participants of the Summit.

It is required to arrange two VIP-zones, a zone for mass-media, a special zone in the terminal. All these requirements will be considered at designing and construction of the new terminal. According to the Chairman of the State Committee on Transport and Road Facilities Ilyas Munirov it is planned to finish design works and to receive the state expertise review in May, 2013. All civil and erection works should be finished till March, 2015.

Also reconstruction of the whole airport complex which includes construction of aircraft parking apron, connecting taxiways, construction of treatment facilities of land runoff is planned.

“The total cost of works will be about 5,5 billion roubles. All these funds it is supposed to involve from the federal budget. The technical project is prepared, the full complex of works is co-ordinated in the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya),” — the chairman of the State Committee on Transport and Road Facilities specified.

In parallel reconstruction of the second take-off and landing area comes to the end. A possibility of agreement undertaking between Ufa airport and Rosaviatsiya concerning lend-lease of special equipment for welcoming delegations of the SCO Summit participants in 2015 is studied now.
