Annually about 3 billion roubles are required for Ufa roads modernisation

Serious financial investments are required for improvement of Ufa road network to the forthcoming international SCO and BRICS Summits.

“I consider that it is possible to allocate on these purposes from the Road fund of Bashkortostan about 3 billion roubles a year. This sum will not affect the repair progress of regional, municipal roads,” the chairman of the State Committee on Transport and Road Facilities RB Ilyas Munirov marked at the organising committee session devoted to preparation for the Summits.

In 2013 it is planned to start the construction of overground pedestrian crosswalks at public transport stops. It will allow to exclude an exit of pedestrians onto a roadway and to reduce road accidents quantity.

The road junction should appear at Chesnokovka settlement too. Thus, the whole highway Ufa —Airport will be free from traffic lights, and the exit of people on it will be excluded.

“A question of access way construction from the road Ufa — Orenburg to the Ufa International Airport with length of 3,3 kilometres is still open. The application is submitted to the Federal Road Agency on necessity of access road construction, negotiations are carried out to include this object into the plan of the Summits preparation,” Ilyas Munirov said.
