Strategy of intellectual property market development is required in Bashkiria

From November 22 till November 23, the inter-regional conference «Topical issues and prospects of intellectual property market development in Bashkortostan and Russia» took place in Academy of Sciences RB.

Patent specialists, heads and leading experts of intellectual property departments of large companies and universities, representatives of small and medium business, inventors and developers of projects, young scientists and students took part in the conference.

Among conference tasks are informing and training of innovative ideas authors and patent specialists, revealing of problematic zones of the republican intellectual property market and working out of its development strategy.

Lectures and master classes on intellectual property and management of intellectual property objects, consultations, round-table conferences, discussions of problems in the branch were organised during the event. Patent specialists gathered at the round-table conference «Working out of republican strategy for the intellectual property market development». According to the participants, the main problematic zones of the intellectual property market are human resources and legislation.

“For today there are only nine patent counsels in the republic, their average age is nearing 60. The last regional legislative document is dated 2008, and that is not specific,” Arthur Bogdanov ascertained.

According to participants of the round-table conference, such situation is unacceptable in the region applying for the rank of one of the leading innovative regions of Russia.

Following the results of the round-table conference it was decided to create an advisory council at the Academy of Sciences RB, and also to prepare a resolution with specific proposals on perfection of regional policy in the field of intellectual property and to form a republican market of intellectual property. One of the main points of the resolution is to create a regional long-term target-oriented program, the press-service Academy of Sciences RB informs.

Organizers of the conference are: Territorial Innovations Centre RB, the Centre of Cluster Development RB (GAU RNTIK "Bashtechinform"), Academy of Sciences RB; at support of the Ministry of Industry and Innovative Policy RB, Science Support Fund RB, Regional Branch of «Business Russia» organisation.
