Rustem Khamitov handed over the state awards to the best farmers of Bashkortostan

The state awards to the best representatives of regional agriculture were handed over by the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov. The celebration ceremony took place in the Republic House on November 8. More than 30 farmers from all over the republic became owners of the Salavat Yulaev Awards, honourable distinctions «For dedicated work in Bashkortostan Republic», Certificates of Honour of Bashkortostan Republic, honorary titles «Honoured Worker of Agriculture RB» and «Honoured Worker of Food Industry RB».

Rustem Khamitov marked the important role of agricultural sector in the republic and country economy as a whole and high level of its development.

“We win the first place among regions of Russia on manufacture of milk, honey — that is not surprising, koumiss, livestock of horses. The second place – on manufacture of potatos, cattle and poultry meat, the fifth – on manufacture of grain crops, eggs, livestock of sheep and goats,” the President underlined.

With special pride Rustem Khamitov marked the fact that this year despite the drought republican agricultural producers carried out the task set for them.

For the last years the republic manages to help seriously rural workers, Rustem Khamitov says. Fuel prices for carrying out agricultural works were reduced, funds for agricultural machinery purchase were allocated. The President is sure that farmers will be able to count on support and henceforth that will be especially topical in connection with the country joining the WTO.
