Bashkortostan foreign trade turnover made 1,8 billion dollars

The foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan made more than 1,8 billion US dollars for the last nine months 2012. The chief of Bashkortostan customs Yuriy Vladimirov reported it at the press conference on October 23. The meeting of department heads with journalists took place on the threshold of the Day of the Customs Officers of Russia which is marked annually on October 25.

According to Yuriy Vladimirov, almost 70 percent of goods turnover are constituted by the export which volume in comparison with the same period of 2011 reduced almost by half – by 45,7 percent. Import, on the contrary increased more than by a quarter (25,4 percent).

As a whole the foreign trade turnover for January-September of current year decreased almost by 34 percent. However this reduction is called not by economic activity recession in the republic, but by changes in customs bodies work.

“Oil refining products traditionally prevail in the structure of exported goods. In April, 2011 the competence on registration of the given goods is transferred to Moscow, to the Central Power Sector Customs, and this was the primary factor which had affected reduction of goods turnover volume,” the deputy chief of Bashkortostan customs Dmitry Mosalev explained.

As a whole, participants of foreign trade activities of Bashkortostan support now business relations with 101 countries. The leading trading partners regarding export following the results of nine months were China - more than 30 percent of turnover, Finland — 10 percent, Ukraine and India – per eight percent. Regarding import Uzbekistan and Ukraine were leaders - 16 percent, and also China – 14,2 percent and Germany – 13,1 percent.

Products of chemical industry and mechanical engineering prevail in export commodity structure.
