UMPO heads division “Engines for air force” and provides dynamic development of the branch

Ufa engine plant (UMPO) becomes a driver of Russian propulsion engineering. Here the base of production programs in the division “Engines for air force” is formed. At present time several directions are actively developed by the plant: engine family AL-31, engine AL55I, the ware N117 for the future aviation complex for front aviation. Besides, the plant works on organization of the centers of technological competence in aluminum and titanium molding, on blades of compressors and turbines and combustion chambers, press service of UMPO reports.

According to the decision of “United Propulsion Engineering Corporation”, which consists of several Russian aviation-space enterprises, the divisions, thematically uniting designers and manufacturers, are formed in the aviation-space branch. Thus, the power engineering division, helicopter division and some other divisions are already established. The division “Engines for air force” is formed at UMPO now in accordance with this decision.

“We are building a new structure in propulsion engineering with high level of internal, external and international cooperation, following the principles of energy-saving production, international quality management system etc. This division is the only designed and manufacturer of engines for Russian Air Force and it provides stable development of the branch” – general director of JSC “UMPO” Alexander Artukhov says.
