Rustem Khamitov:”We stand at the very beginning on the way to restoration of tourism in Bashkortostan”

Internal tourism in Bashkortostan needs a new round in its development today, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov stated on October 16 at the governmental meeting, devoted to establishment of tourist clusters.

“Plenty of tourists came and visited us earlier. Now this inflow is too scarce. There are the sanatoriums, where 50 thousand people come to every year but this scale is far from ideal. There are the countries, which develop themselves at the expense of tourism. We also can’t pass this industry by but first we have to determine the starting points in development of this branch. We have to decide how we are going to attract investors and how to start working with international companies” – Rustem Khamitov said.

The Republic is found at the very beginning of a long way, the President RB believes.

“This work promised to be complex and its results won’t be visible immediately”.

In opinion of the chairman of the state committee RB for business undertakings and tourism Ruslan Kinzikeev the long-term goal-oriented program “Development of internal and external tourism in Republic of Bashkortostan in 2012-2016” should play rather important role in this process.

“Investors come to us chaotically and in order to achieve stability we have to make the infrastructure first. We have to build big tourist centers, interesting for tourists. Besides, investment projects for development of tourism have to be considered as top priority projects” – he stated.

In opinion of the President RB the Government should define what kind of tourism has to be developed first of all before attraction of investors. The President posed concrete problems concerning determination of local tourist potential and concerning the measures, necessary for development of Republican tourist industry.
