Deposits insurance compensation will be increased up to 1 million roubles

The size of insurance compensation on banking deposits of individuals will be increased from current 700 thousand roubles up to 1 million roubles. At the meeting with bankers concerning necessity of its increase the line was drawn by the Prime minister of the Government RF Dmitry Medvedev, informs the webportal Bankir.ru. Also the edition managed to find out that till October 15, the banking community should develop certain restrictions of payments to depositors that «not to admit an overflow of deposits to banks with a risky policy». In particular it is considered possibility to cover with the raised insurance only the principal amount of deposits without interests on it as it occurs now. The offer also was announced to insure completely not the whole sum of a deposit with interests, but only a part of that and another — for example, 90 percent — «that the investor risked not only with interests, but also with a part of a principal amount».

Besides, Anatoly Aksakov, the president of Association of Regional Banks of Russia spoke for increase in the size of insurance covering. As "Bashinform" informed earlier at the press conference which took place in Ufa he declared that the corresponding draft bill had been already brought into the State Duma.
