Draught-2012 cost Russian agrarians 12 billion rubles

The preliminary estimated losses fr om the draught-2012 already reach 12 billion rubles in Russia. At the same time the expert estimation of losses is still going on, the site of the Ministry of agriculture RB reports.

“The regions announced the losses for the sum of 43 billion rubles, taking lost profits into account, but it is not done to calculate so anywhere. According to our assessments the direct loss is equal to about 21 billion rubles” – the Minister of agriculture of Russia Nikolai Fedorov stated.

According to the Minister of agriculture RF the Ministry will soon send the results of expert examination together with its own substantiation to the Russian Ministry of finances for determination of volumes of moneyed assistance to the farms, which have suffered losses because of the draught.

In 2012 the death of crops was registered in 20 Russian regions. Bashkortostan was also included into the list of Russian regions, wh ere the alarm because of the draught was raised.

According to the expert assessments 8763 farmings have suffered from the draught in Russia. Crops died on the total area 5,52 million hectares, i.e. on 7,3% of all sown areas.

Ministry of agriculture RB reports 1526 Republican farmings have suffered the draught this year. 585 thousand hectares of crops died. 51 thousand hectares were insured. The preliminary loss of Republican agrarians exceeds 5,438 million rubles.
