Russian polygraph workers will ask the President of Russia to protect them from WTO

Russian polygraph workers and specialists intend to urge the President of Russia to protect the polygraph branch fr om WTO. The text of the appeal will be introduced to the professional polygraph community at the forum of polygraph specialists and publishers “TAMGA-2012”, which started in Bashkiria today, September 13.

“At present time polygraph industry in the country represents a branch, which fully depends on import” – one of the document’s authors – the president of the interregional association of polygraph workers Boris Kuzmin – said – “Equipment, materials – we depend upon import in everything. Theoretically joining this organization means removal of all obstacles and reduction of customs duties and it is good for us but the matter is that by the present moment we’ve already managed to make the duties maximally low. Thus, duties for technological equipment are equal to zero and we have 5%-duties for some sorts of paper and now we are returning to the initial positions: 15% of customs duties for all materials and 5% - for equipment. We understand that in the future these duties will go down but the present situation just blows our community up since we already bear huge losses”.

According to Boris Kuzmin the Public Chamber of Russia has already held a gathering, devoted to this problem. Now the text of an open appeal to the President of Russia is ready and it is said there that the professional polygraph community can’t be satisfied with such situation. At the forum in Bashkiria, wh ere WTO joining has to become one of the key themes, the text of the appeal will be coordinated with all representatives of the polygraph branch and will be included into the final resolution of the forum.
