Rustem Khamitov called three prior branches for attraction of investments

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov called agriculture, chemistry and woodworking the branches of industry, where investments were wanted most of all, answering questions in the course of the press conference in Moscow, initiated by the news agency RBC.
“We are actively developing agriculture today. 40% of population lives in the countryside, about 150 people, living in villages, regularly go to the northern territories in search of living. We have to open new workplaces here” – the President RB mentioned.
According to him there are big investment projects on organization of milk production, pig farms and agricultural products processing in the Republic for today.
“This is the priority number one for us” – Rustem Khamitov said concerning Republican agricultural complex and underscored at that Bashkortostan, as an oil Republic, won’t do without investments in oil chemistry and chemistry.
“To my mind chemistry is considered one of the key drivers in development of Republican economics as well as of all-Russian one” – the President RB stated.
Rustem Khamitov called woodworking branch the third top priority sphere for attraction of investments and reported that construction of a big woodworking center, able to process about three million cubic meters of timber per year, will start in the Republic in 2012.
The summary cost of the project amounts to 500 million euro and it is meant for five years. The first turn of the plant, worth a total of 160 million euro, will be put into exploitation in 2014.
