Gregory Rapota heads “Soda” board of directors

On September 4 the state secretary of allied state Russia-Byelorussia Gregory Rapota was unanimously elected the chairman of the body of directors of JSC “Soda”.

This decision is connected with the fact that at present time Byelorussia begins developing its own project on erection of a plant for production of soda ash on its territory.

Details of the project were under discussion on June 14, 2012, during the visit of the President RB Rustem Khamitov to Byelorussia. Public affairs service of the President RB reports these plans will become a reality within the frames of bilateral partnership, provided by the secretary of the allied state Gregory Rapota, in the most optimal way.

For the reference: open joint-stock company “Soda”, registered in the Bashkir town of Sterlitamac, is a big Russian joint-stock company, founded in 1994. Republic of Bashkortostan is the main shareholder of JSC “Soda”, owning 61,65% of shares in its authorized capital. JSC “Caustic” is the second big shareholder of “Soda” (“Bashkir Chemistry” – is the main shareholder), having 34,80% of shares.

JSC “Soda” is considered the biggest manufacturer of soda ash in Russia (56%) and CIS (43%) and the only manufacturer of baking soda and white black in the country.

The JSC “Soda” board of directors consists of:

Spartak Akhmetov – a consultant of the President RB;

Vladimir Balabanov – the head of the Presidential Administration RB;

Alexei Izotov – the head of Sterlitamac administration;

Ramil Iskuzin – the Minister of land and property relations RB;

Eugene Mavrin – the Minister for economic development RB;

Nadezda Pinigina – general director of JSC “Bashkir Chemistry”;

Dmitry Pyatkin – the chairman of “Bashkir Chemistry” board of directors;

Gregory Rapota – state secretary of the allied state Russia-Byelorussia;

Uri Smirnov – general director of JSC “Regional Fund”.
