Rise in tariffs for railway transportation in 2013 will not exceed 7 percent

Tariffs for railway transportation will be indexed within seven percent in 2013. Since 2014, this figure should not exceed inflation parametres. Such task was set to responsible departments by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. This was discussed at the meeting of the long-term tariff policy on railway transportation following the results of which the report providing a number of measures on development of railway transportation tariffs was signed. In particular, it is recognised reasonable to establish tariffs for the long-term period — not less than for five years. The innovation will start to operate since 2014.
