"Gazprom" will be provided by reliable engines AL-31ST

In the Ufa Engine Industrial Association (UMPO) the meeting concerning increase of reliability of AL-31ST engines for gas-compressor units (GPA) took place. The vice-president of the Board of JSC "Gazprom" Vitaly Markelov, the Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkortostan Republic – the Minister of Housing and Utilities RB Sergey Afonin, the general director of JSC «Gazprom Transgas Ufa» Shamil Sharipov and managing director of UMPO Alexander Artyuhov took part in its work.

The parties discussed the questions connected with operation of aircraft engines AL-31ST at gas-transport objects of "Gazprom" and creation of their necessary reserve. Earlier working capacity of gas-compressor units where AL-31ST engines were used as drives, raised doubts in connection with their frequent failure. The management of UMPO assured that all problems will be solved in the shortest terms.

“Gazprom fruitfully co-operates with the Russian manufacturers, including with the Ufa Engine Industrial Association within the limits of AL-31ST engines reliability increase”, Vitaly Markelov said.

According to the UMPO press-service, four enterprises (UMPO, NPP "Motor", Lyulka Scientific & Technical Center, Engineering Centre “ODK”) will be engaged in this task.

“Today a fundamental change in the matter of engines reliability increase occurred. It is important, that the leadership of the republic in the name of the President RB Rustem Khamitov actively joined the process of this problem solution as the republican leaders are interested in productive cooperation of two large industrial enterprises of the region. Thus, in one and a half year we hope to receive a reliable drive”, Shamil Sharipov marked.
