MegaPhone became the winner of competition for the 4G/LTE federal frequency

The Federal Supervision Agency for Information Technologies and Communications declared results of the all-Russian competition for LTE frequency. MegaPhone acquired the right to use the federal complete set of frequencies for expansion of networks of the fourth generation (4G).

The victory in the competition gives the chance to MegaPhone to expand considerably access of inhabitants of Russia to cellular communication services of the fourth generation. Now MegaPhone will develop networks in the Russian regions not only on already working model of «virtual operator», but also using access to the range of frequencies received following the results of the competition.

4G services are already rendered to MegaPhone customers in the regions where more than 10 % of the population of Russia live (Moscow and the Moscow Region, Novosibirsk, Samara, Krasnodar Territory). By the end of 2012 this indicator will reach 27 %.

MegaPhone is the national leader in the field of mobile Internet services: more than 50 % of cellular traffic of the given largest mobile operators in Russia are formed in the MegaPhone network.
