Flood hazard will be considered at large scale housing construction in Bashkiria

At designing new residential areas great attention to flood hazard will be paid in Bashkortostan. According to the Deputy Prime Minister of Government RB – Minister of Housing and Public Utilities Sergey Afonin, this question is very acute.

In connection with the known events which occurred in Krasnodar Territory, at the briefing session Rustem Khamitov took a tough line on this matter. And today the attention once again was concentrated on this subject, the Vice-premier said. Our calculations under prospective projects of Zabeliye area development should be rechecked.

We should remind that the Bashkortostan President Rustem Khamitov at the session concerning complex development of perspective territories in Ufa, charged the Government RB to inspect the territories planned for development concerning the flood hazard. In spite of the fact that during the last years there was no «big water» in the region, once in 40-50 years a serious flooding may occur in the Ufa region. In this connection the head of our republic demanded to exclude from plans of complex development potentially flooded territories, and also to supervise constantly a status of dams, other hydraulic engineering constructions, to check efficiency of emergency-broadcast systems.
