Free parking at Ufa airport may cause traffic jams

Free parking at the International airport "Ufa" can be prolonged up to 30 minutes.

It is a maximum that we can afford. Otherwise traffic jams will appear; there will be a chaos. Moreover near to the airport there is a place for free parking, such point of view the general director of JSC "International airport "Ufa" Ramil Timirgazin expressed, answering the questions of journalists concerning the parking near to the airport complex.

Thus, the requirement of deputies of the State Assembly – Kurultay RB to prolong time of free parking from 20 minutes till one hour at the Ufa airport is considered impracticable.

Ramil Timirgazin also explained that the paid parking place near to the airport is organised according to aviation safety standards. Registration numbers of everybody entering the territory of the airport by car are fixed by videocameras.

The general director of the enterprise denied the opinion that airport "Ufa" earns quite a lot of money by parking. Thus, annually the airport spends for the maintenance of the paid parking 8 million roubles, and earns only 8,5 million. Besides considerable funds were spent for the initial equipment of the parking place.

Ramil Timirgazin responded and to the question of journalists on the reasons of flights delay. As he said, only about five times a year flights were delayed because of "Ufa" airport meteo-conditions (fog, heavy snowfall, etc.).
