“ALSTOMRUSHYDROENERGY” started construction of a plant in Ufa

Construction of the plant for manufacturing of hydrotechnical equipment started in Ufa today. This is the first enterprise of the future techno-park of energy-efficient technologies. The acting deputy Chairman of the Government RF Igor Sechin, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the president of “ALSTOM” renewable energy sector Jerome Peckress have taken part in the ceremony of foundation laying.

The plenipotentiary of “RUSHYDRO” President Alexander Kushvid and the head of “ALSTOM” office in Russia Andre Lavrinenko presented the project. New plant will manufacture equipment for small and medium hydroelectric stations. Now this segment in power engineering faces quick progress. Localization of energy equipment production in Ufa will allow the new enterprise to seize 40% of Russian energy market.

The first output is expected to be manufactured in 2014 and the plant has to reach planned production capacity in 2016 – 19 hydro-turbines and 16 generators per year. Hydroelectric stations of Kuban have to become the first consumers.

The strong point of the project is not just localization of production in Ufa but transfer of the newest technologies by the French company “ALSTOM” to the Russian party in the person of “RUSHYDRO” and at that it won’t be a one-time transfer. The list of “ALSTOM” know-how will be replenished and updated two times a year.

The aggregate volume of investments at the first stage will amount to 125 million euro. The plant will be erected in accordance with strict ecological requirements.

Besides, the Republic will get additional workplaces and the future engineering staff of the plant will be formed of the graduates of the republican technical institutes. More than 134 million rubles is allocated for training of the future plant’s personnel.

The basic salary at the plant will be equal to 45 thousand rubles.

“Today we are present at very important event for Russian power engineering as well as for Bashkortostan” – Igor Sechin said at the solemn opening ceremony – “In the person of a new plant Russia will get one more modern competence and will be able to hold a worthy place not only in Russia but in CIS and in the third countries too. All that will give serious impetus to Russian power engineering in a whole, we have all necessary competitive advantages for that”.

“Today we are laying the foundation of a new modern machine building high-tech enterprise and both the country and the Republic need such enterprises. The Republic will do everything possible to make this project maximally efficient and for that the conditions for this enterprise will be really comfortable with all tax preferences” – the President of Bashkortostan stated.

After the end of the presentation Igor Sechin and Rustem Khamitov have paid a visit to one of the biggest enterprises of the republic – Ufa transformer plant.
