Shipyard can be moved from Ufa to Agidel

The Ufa’s shipyard can be moved from Ufa to the town of Agidel, located 200 kilometers from the capital of Bashkiria to the northwest within the frames of the investment project on construction of a river port in this town. This problem was discussed during the presidential meeting, devoted to development of internal river transport in the Republic. At present time this branch is found on the decline. In particular, volumes of river cargo transportations dropped ten times, as compared with the Soviet period.
According to the deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB Sergey Afonin construction of a river cargo port in Agidel can contribute to development of river transport in a whole.
“Suitable geographic dislocation of such port will provide reduction of costs for transportation of mass heavy oversized and spacious cargo on the territory of Russia with further access to European and Middle East countries” – the Vice-Premier mentioned – “At present time we are considering the possibility to move the Ufa’s shipyard to the town of Agidel. This step will reduce our costs, including fuel expenses, because in this case we will shorten the distance between the main job sites of our river ships on Kama-river to the shipyard approximately by 200 kilometers”.
Besides, it will be possible to erect about 300 thousand square meters of housing on the vacant territory.
