World Labor Protection Day will be held under the slogan of “green economics”

The International Labor Organization announced the topic of the World Labor Protection Day in 2012. It will be held under the slogan “Advancement of labor protection in “Green economics”, the State Labor Inspectorate RB reported. The World Labor Protection Day is marked on April 28.

“Green economics” is one of the directions in development of modern society. This is the economics, which raises people’s well-being and at the same time lowers the risks for environment. Global production should reduce carbonic emissions, using natural resources more efficiently.

“Green economics becomes the symbol of more stable economics and the society, which tries to preserve environment for future generations” – the acting director of the State Labor Inspectorate in Bashkortostan Andre Tsibizov said – “But the technologies, used in some productions, can protect environment but at the same time to be unsafe for workers”.

According to information of the International Labor Organization about 2,3 million men and women die every year as a result of accidents on workplaces or the diseases, connected with this kind of work activity. In 2011 the number of fatalities on workplaces in Bashkortostan has grown by 10% and the number of accidents, accompanied with traumas – by 13%. According to information of the State Labor Inspectorate 213 workers have been heavily injured and 87 have died as a result of production accidents in the Republic.
